Terms of Service

Last updated: [DATE] — placeholder, set this when you actually publish.

This is a starting draft, not legal advice. It was written to accurately describe what Key Issue actually does today, but a document like this should be reviewed by a lawyer familiar with your jurisdiction before you rely on it with real customers — especially the refund, liability, and governing-law sections, which are marked below as needing your own decision.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Key Issue (the "Service"), operated by [YOUR BUSINESS NAME] ("we," "us," "our"). By creating an account, you agree to these Terms.

1. What Key Issue does

Key Issue helps comic book sellers create eBay listings. You provide a comic's title, issue number, and grade — or upload a cover photo — and the Service uses automated systems, including third-party AI services, to identify the book, research pricing, write condition notes, and flag notable ("key") issues. You can optionally connect your eBay account so finished listings are sent to your eBay account as drafts, not published listings — nothing goes live on eBay without your own separate confirmation there.

2. Accuracy of generated content

Listing content, condition assessments, and suggested prices are generated automatically and are estimates, not guarantees. You are solely responsible for reviewing every generated listing — including the grade, condition description, key-issue claims, and price — before posting it or sending it to eBay. We are not responsible for losses arising from inaccurate automated content, including but not limited to overgraded or undergraded books, incorrect publisher or issue information, or pricing that does not reflect actual market value at the time of sale.

3. Your account

4. Connecting eBay

If you connect your eBay account, you authorize us to access only what's needed to identify your account, read your shipping/payment/return policies, and create draft listings on your behalf — never to publish a listing or access anything beyond that scope. You can disconnect your eBay account at any time from your account settings. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by eBay Inc.

5. Subscriptions, billing, and top-ups

6. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to create listings for items you don't own or have the right to sell, to misrepresent a book's condition or authenticity, or to violate eBay's own policies. We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the Service, attempt to circumvent usage limits, or use it for anything unlawful.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated content will be accurate.

9. Limitation of liability

[YOUR DECISION, with a lawyer — a typical clause caps liability at the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months and excludes indirect/consequential damages. This needs to match your actual risk tolerance and jurisdiction's rules on what limitations are even enforceable.]

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

[YOUR DECISION — typically wherever your business is legally organized. Not something to guess; confirm with whoever forms/advises your business entity.]
